She was always her family’s rock and there whenever anyone needed her. She was a stay-at-home Mom and full-time “Bamaw” to her three grandchildren.īarbara was an amazingly strong woman who survived so much. She married Bobby Harrison in the fall of 1979 and became mother of her only daughter, Bethany Michelle, in 1981. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Gerald Wimpee, and brother-in-law, Jimmie Dunn.īarbara was a 1974 graduate of De Queen High School and a member of Kern Heights Baptist Church. Barbara Sue Wimpee Harrison, 67, of Horatio, departed this earth on July 22, 2023, at her daughter’s home in Benton, Arkansas, from unforeseen complications following a serious automobile accident in March.īarbara was born on December 31, 1955, in De Queen, Arkansas to Otha and Lois Rhodes Wimpee and was the youngest of their three children. Lacefield will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, Jat Crosstrails Cemetery with Thomas Sweeten officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen. He is survived by his wife, Betty Gynell Jester Lacefield three sons, Danny and Melissa Lacefield of De Queen, Kenny and Cathy Lacefield of Carlsbad, New Mexico and Andy and Sally Lacefield of De Queen one sister, Lola Barkmon of Beaumont, Texas nine grandchildren, Hayli, Jennifer, Jaisee, Josh, Michael, Cory, Anthony, Shawn and Blake 16 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Lacefield three sisters, Dorothy Lawson, Verna Webster and Linnie Bell Griffin and two granddaughters, Sheena Lacefield and Heather Lacefield. Lacefield was preceded in death by his parents, Olen David and Bertha Mae Owens Lacefield one son, Steve Lacefield four brothers, Billy, Junior, Hubert and R.C. He loved roller skating, square dancing and playing dominoes with his grandchildren. He helped to build the dams for De Queen, Gillham and Dierks Lakes, and also Brantley Dam in New Mexico. He was a mechanic and carpenter and worked for Firestone. Floyd Wayne Lacefield, age 80, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Wednesday, Jat his home. ![]()
